There are three ways to warm feet in winter: electric socks, electric insoles, and air-activated insoles. I think air-activated insoles are safer and more hygienic, as they are disposable, and you have new fresh ones every day.

If you don't trust electric devices, you will like Air Activated Foot Warmers that give you up to 8 hours of warmth. THE HEAT company® is a trusted Austrian manufacturer located in the Salzburg Alps mountains. It has produced warmers for outdoor activities and adhesive warmers for back and shoulder pain management since 1994. It is also known as the official supplier of Austria Ski Team, Swiss Ski, and Snowboard Germany.

I have Raynaud's syndrome, and my feet are always cold, so I have a big pack of such insoles and use them at home and for outdoor activities.

What are heated socks? Heated socks are standard socks with various approaches to integrated heating to combat a problem with the human circulatory system. The heart has to work very hard to pump blood to the feet, and a lot of body heat is lost through the feet, and the blood is at its coolest by the time it reaches the feet. This is why, in the winter, hands and feet become much colder more quickly than other body parts. While good boots or shoes and thick socks do help, they only serve to trap what heat is already provided, which does little for sustained comfort.

How Heated Socks Work

Heated socks usually use a battery-powered low-energy heater mesh which provides ambient warmth to the feet. The lining and heating mechanisms can be removed to allow the socks to be machine-washable and is usually a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a USB charging interface.

These socks come in various sizes, styles, and materials, making them great for any occasion where you’re exposed to the cold for a significant length of time. This is beneficial to circulation and a great way to reduce the risk of frostbite or severe foot damage for diabetics and those with cardiac problems or who are on blood thinners which makes them much more susceptible to the cold.

All socks are unisex and suitable for both men and women, the only difference being the size. Furthermore, most manufacturers producing battery-operated heater socks use similar technologies. Heated Socks are one of the illustrative examples of such products.

The socks come with a 3.7V 4800MAH rechargeable lithium battery, meaning you do not need to buy new batteries. It takes the device 3 seconds to heat up, so it will begin to warm you almost immediately after switching it on. Once the socks reach the set temperature, they will keep you warm for up to 9 hours (on a fully charged battery).

These socks are pretty powerful as they can heat up to a temperature of 60°C. If you do not want your socks to be that hot, you can easily adjust their temperature settings, choosing between low temperature (45°C-50°C), mid-range temperature (50°C-55°C), and high temperature (55°C-60°C).

Alternatively, you may buy battery-operated Heated Insoles suitable for all winter outdoor activities and sports.

But note these electric devices are wired, the batteries weigh approximately 600 grams, and you should attach the gaiter along the leg on the ankle or above the knee.

Testing & Customers Reviews

Here are the reviews from YouTube bloggers who tested the heated socks and have found them effective and worth buying.

Gavyn Page: "I have used these Electric Heated Socks on several occasions hunting, and they work great. I'm very well pleased with this purchase.

I buy four sets because these socks are very comfortable, work really great, and they are long enough to go over the carves the way I like. Just be sure to fully charge the batteries before using them to get the full effect.

They are designed to warm your feet while wearing boots, shoes or slippers. Not designed to wear by itself. Absolutely wonderful in northernmost climate."

TGL Today: "Today we're going a quick review here on a pair of XBUTY. I bought these socks back in October because my feet get extremely cold and after reading tons of reviews online on multiple different socks, I figured these ones looked like they would be the best bang for the buck.

So, i tried them out you've got a high, medium and low, as you can see here. There's your temp settings 155 to 160, supposed to last 8 and a 9,5 hours. On high low, you're supposed to get 15 to 16 hours out of and it's supposed to be 115 to 120 degrees.

One of the key factors that I liked about these socks, it says that the batteries are 4 800 milliamp hours versus 2 milliamp hours, which I can confirm that these socks are 39.99. And I looked at eighty and ninety socks.

You've got three heat settings. I also like that these are machine washable and I don't have to try to wash them by hand. They don't get that hot, nope, don't worry guys."

Hello. I wanted to know how are these heated socks constructed. Is the sock knitted first and then the heating element is added to it. Or is the heating element knitted into the sock fabric?
