What are Heated Socks? Heated socks are standard socks with various approaches to integrated heating to combat a problem with the human circulatory system. The heart has to work very hard to pump blood to the feet, and a lot of body heat is lost through the feet, and the blood is at its coolest by the time it reaches the feet.

This is why, in the winter, hands and feet become much colder much more quickly than other parts of the body. While good boots or shoes and thick socks do help, they only serve to trap what heat is already provided, which does little for sustained comfort.

If you don't trust electric devices, you may warm your feet with disposable Foot Warmers. They provide up to 9 hours of warmth. These air-activated insoles are safer and more hygienic, and you have new fresh ones every day. I have Raynaud's syndrome, and my feet are always cold, so I have a big pack of such insoles and use them at home and for outdoor activities.

How does it work?

Heated socks usually use a battery-powered low-energy heater mesh which provides ambient warmth to the feet. The lining and heating mechanisms can be removed to allow the socks to be machine-washable and is usually a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a USB charging interface.

These socks come in various sizes, styles, and materials, making them great for any occasion where you’re exposed to the cold for a significant length of time. This is beneficial to circulation and a great way to reduce the risk of frostbite or severe foot damage for diabetics and those with cardiac problems or who are on blood thinners which makes them much more susceptible to the cold.

All socks are unisex and suitable for both men and women, the only difference being the size. Furthermore, most manufacturers producing battery-operated heater socks use similar technologies. ORORO Heated Socks is one of the illustrative examples of such products.

The socks come with a 3.63V 3350MAH rechargeable lithium battery, meaning you do not need to buy new batteries. It takes the device 5 seconds to heat up, so it will begin to warm you almost immediately after switching it on. Once the socks reach the set temperature, they will keep you warm for up to 10 hours (on a fully charged battery).

These socks are pretty powerful as they can heat up to a temperature of 55°C (131°F). If you do not want your socks to be that hot, you can easily adjust their temperature settings, choosing between low temperature (35°C/95°F), mid-range temperature (45°C/113°F), and high temperature (55°C/131°F).
