What is the best patio cleaner? Designed to effectively remove dirt, stains, mould, and algae from your patio tiles, this type of equipment eliminates the need for scrubbing with your hands. Patio cleaners differ by power, mode of operation, and power source.

How Patio Cleaners Differ

Patio cleaners come in two types. A pressure washer is a machine that uses a high-pressure water spray to remove dust, mud, mould, and grime from different surfaces.

The electric patio cleaner with a wire brush like Ryobi RY18PCA-0 ONE+ Patio Cleaner works by mechanically removing weeds and grass from between the gaps in the surface. A scrubbing brush removes moss, weeds, and dirt that has gathered on the patio surface.

  • Pressure washers differ by the choice of nozzles they offer. Thin nozzles are able to create intense high pressure and are used to reach into narrow crevices, soap nozzles can dispense detergent, while Turbo nozzles cover a large area in a short period of time.
  • Patio cleaners can be corded or battery-powered. Although cordless models are new to the market, they are becoming increasingly popular for two reasons. First, your movements are not limited to the cord’s length and, secondly, cordless pressure washers can draw water from a bucket, instead of a garden hose.

In terms of power, cordless patio cleaners lose out to corded models, let alone the fact that their batteries have a limited runtime. And yet, if you need a lightweight, manoeuvrable, and untethered unit, a battery-powered patio cleaner is exactly what you are looking for.

Trusted manufacturers. There are three high-rated trusted brands: Kärcher, Ryobi, and WORX. Kärcher was founded by a German inventor in 1935 and is well known for its floor cleaning equipment. Ryobi is a Japanese manufacturer of electronics and power tools, while WORX is an American company specialising in garden equipment.

Best Patio Cleaners Compared

If you are looking for the most powerful machine that can cope with any cleaning task, consider buying the high-end Kärcher K 7 Premium High-Pressure Washer. With a maximum pressure of 15 bars, the unit can eliminate the most stubborn dirt. The Extra Boost mode releases an additional 15 bars.

This corded electric 2800-watt unit comes with a 10-metre hose, a 3-in-1 multi-jet spray wand, and a 180 Q Smart Control gun. All settings are transferred from the app to the patio cleaner via Bluetooth. The machine quickly cleans large surfaces, while the adjustable nozzle spacing allows you to use it on sensitive surfaces.

If you do not want to fuss with cords, we recommend buying the battery-powered WORX WG620E.6 Portable Pressure Washer. The unit runs on a 2.0 Ah battery with a runtime of 15 min and a charging time of 1 hour. This patio cleaner offers a maximum pressure of 22 bars and a flow rate of 120 litres per hour.

In addition to being portable, the WORX WG620E.6 has the advantage of a more versatile nozzle compared to the Kärcher K 7. Depending on your cleaning demands, you can choose between 5 spray angles: 0°, 15°, 25°, 40° and shower. Also, the machine uses a dual watering system, for watering and cleaning.

A good choice is the Ryobi RY18PCA-0 ONE+ Patio Cleaner. Like the WORX model, it is cordless and uses an 18V battery. The difference is that the WORX unit is a pressure washer, whereas the Ryobi RY18PCA-0 works by mechanically removing weeds and grass from between the gaps in the surface.

The Ryobi patio cleaner features a high-speed wire brush, a telescopic shaft and an adjustable auxiliary handle. A rubber grip makes the cleaning process comfortable.

Testing & Customers Reviews

Here are the reviews from YouTube bloggers, who tested the patio cleaners and have found them effective and worth buying.

Tools&Stuff: "It's a Ryobi tool and i like it.

It doesn't take much room doesn't require plugging into power plugging into a hose it's very quiet.

It says on the box that it will do 50 minutes on a 5 amp Ryobi battery, it also gives a square meter rate of 650 square meters per 5 amp hour battery charge. That sounds very optimistic to me, because i did somewhere in the region of 40 to 50 square meters of decking and half a battery. I would say 100 square meters would be more like it.

The height adjustment is minimal. Clasp is cheap and awful and hopefully you don't have to do it too many times because i don't think it'll last very long.

But, overall, it's fairly lightweight, it's easy to use, it doesn't make too much mess. Make sure you've got some water on those thing. People try and do it without water, that's scrubbing anything without water - is just a waste of time. It's great, it's light, it's fast, it's easy to use."

Russell Platten: "That K7 is absolutely tremendous! It is way way better than the K4 version. It is literally just whizzing through all this it's way way quicker. I think it's going to take me much much less time to get this patio done with this new setup. In my opinion, this is a really good pressure washer.

I think that is a big advantage of these machines, because it is so tidy and easy to pull, and I think it's a smashing machine.

I am very pleased with the machine, knowing what i know. Now, i would not have gone for the smart control. I would have spent less money and just gone for the K7 premium, but saying that it is a smashing machine."
