If you’re as much fascinated with Asia, as I am, then you’re probably familiar with the Japanese obsession with toilet seats. The Japanese have taken the high-tech toilet culture to a whole new level with their washlets, which are, in their essence, cleansing toilet seats with water spray, dryer, seat warming, and other high-tech features.

Bidet toilet seats have been popular in Japan since the 1970s. The reason behind this popularity might lie in the fact that toilet rooms in Japan are often unheated, and pre-heating a seat is just a necessity for better comfort and convenience. But having said that, I am sure these are not the only reasons.

In fact, from what I know, there are more than eight names for a toilet in the Japanese language, including toire, otearai, benjo, or benki. There’s even a day that’s called a National Toilet Day in Japan, which is celebrated on November 10, because the date of the celebration, 11/10 (the month and the day), reads in Japanese as ii-to(ire), which means “Good Toilet”. In any case, I decided to share this with you, because I, in particular, find it absolutely amusing that someone would be so much fascinated with toilet culture. But Asia is full of surprises, and that is exactly why I like it. Anyway, let’s get back to the seats, see how they actually work, how they can benefit you, and why you need to buy one for yourself.

How Bidet Toilet Seats Differ

The more features you want, the more money you’d have to pay. The heated toilet seats with bidet will cost you somewhat around £300. The Japanese bidet toilet seat TOTO with full customization and an array of functions can skyrocket in prices up to £1,000.

The high-tech model from TOTO has all the features packed up nice and neat and costs around £1,000. That’s a very good deal for the options and functionality it provides.

Testing & Customers Reviews

Here are the reviews from YouTube bloggers who tested the bidet toilet seat and have found them effective and worth buying.

cfldriven: "In today's video we are looking at the VOVO VB-6000SE bidet. You can either buy a smart toilet, which can be really expensive, or you can go with something like this where the electronics and the plumbing is part of the toilet seat and no modifications to the actual toilet are needed. That's where the VOVO bidet comes in.

Unboxing reveals a complete set of everything you need to do the installation, includes plastic parts for attaching the toilet seat to your toilet, a remote control and attachments for getting the seat onto your toilet, plus various brackets and batteries are included a hose. And a manual plus a quick sheet. And then the actual product itself, which does include a power cord it's about four feet which may not be enough for some people, because we generally don't tend to have outlets close to the toilet they tend to be closer to the vanity.

It's all plastic. It has an inlet valve for water. It has some manual controls on the side status that tells you whether there's power to it and whether it's in a power saving mode. On the flip side the lid includes a little label telling you not to stand on it, not to use harsh chemicals to clean and not to plug in with your hands all wet because it should be already plugged in before you go to use it.

The spray is pretty thorough on its own. Once you've had enough rinsing, hit the stop-button then you can hit the dry-button or you can just opt to dry yourself with toilet paper. There's a button that will actually get the front area and wash that for you, if you press the button twice you'll get a pulsing wash. I didn't like that so much, but i guess you could get used to it. No need to worry that this will inadvertently go off and spray all over the floor, because even if you purposely tell it to spray it won't because the seat sensors that no one's sitting there."

Eco-Friendly Deals: "This is Brondell Swash electronic bidet seat comes nicely packed there you go. The design looks Compact and this one is for round toilets. This is available in both elongated and round toilet types.

The material here is plastic and this looks to be very well constructed. It comes with a remote with programmable user settings. However the basic menu options are available here: this is the remote IR receiver, here is the stainless steel nozzle. The seat has bumpers for better support. This is an electric bidet and needs to be connected to an outlet. Comes with a mounting plate bidet hose and T-adapter.

Installation is extremely easy simply. Follow the steps in the manual connect the power cord you can choose between five nozzle positions.

There you go loaded with features such as heated seat, warm water, warm air dryer and self-cleaning nozzle. This bidet is highly recommended."
