What is a Tactical Flashlight? A tactical flashlight is a special type of flashlight modeled after standard military equipment. They are generally smaller, being the size of a large pen or marker (though larger versions do exist), but their LED light and magnification crystal provide a very bright, focused light compared to standard flashlights.

They are typically made of titanium or aircraft aluminum, though some stainless steel versions also exist. They tend to have a modular form factor, with a pen clip and an adjustable control for flicker, brightness, and in many cases, even a preset SOS signaling mode for emergencies.

Some tactical flashlights have a hidden knife or pointed end for self-defense or survival practices as well. Tactical flashlights usually run on either a stack of button-cell batteries or AAA batteries, though USB-rechargeable versions are becoming popular in recent times as well.

These are excellent for camping, hiking, fishing or other outdoorsy activities, or just as a durable, bright flash light that’s easy to always have handy.
