It was also said that each stretch had to be held to the point of a slight discomfort (from 10 to 30 seconds), and never attempted without a prior warmup (light aerobic activity to warm up the muscles).

That same article from the NYT also featured brief opinion interviews with gym owners, one of whom said that the full body stretchers might not be very beneficial especially for those only starting out in fitness because machines tended to isolate muscles which wouldn’t have happened during a natural stretch.

But what about doctors and scientists? Do they believe in inversion therapy?
