The Main Characteristics of FPS Mice
Here are the main criteria for paying attention to when picking a good mouse:
FPS games are most demanding when it comes to sensitivity. Dpi should be high enough (6400 dpi and higher). In rare cases 3000 dpi models can do, but this is rather an exception. High sensitivity will let you aim conveniently, shoot better without missing your target.
You will easily feel the range and the lack of this indicator when you shoot from a sniper rifle. If you see that after moving the mouse the picture hasn’t changed or changed insufficiently, then it is the dpi that caused this problem.
The possibility of instantly changing the dpi is also crucial for FPS games. A slower reaction is required when you are sneaking in the dark corners, but once you find yourself in a bloody fight; it’s a whole different story.
2. Additional keys
Try to refrain from having any or at least invest in a mouse which has as few of them as possible if they are that important to you. The most you need are the ones allowing changing the armor, switching to the shooting mode and a couple of more options.
3. Response and hit perception
This is a very indicator for shooters. The more hits per second are recognized, the better.
4. Response time (the time required for the PC to react to your hit).
In this case, the less the figure is, the better. Top mice usually have a 1ms response time.
