The benefit of a pure sine wave inverter is its ability to produce more reliable, cleaner, and smoother electricity to operate electronics as compared to a modified sine wave option. It is ideal for sensitive electronic appliances such as stereos and medical devices and is particularly recommended for new LED TV sets and brushless motors. Sine wave inverters produce low harmonic distortion, reduce noise in game consoles, fans, and TVs, prevent glitches in monitors and computer crashes. With such an inverter, ovens and motors operate quieter and faster. The only downside of a pure sine wave inverter is a higher price, which is why it would be wise to weigh all pros and cons before making a purchase.

First and foremost, you should decide what power rating you need, which depends on what equipment you are going to use. Check the power rating of all your appliances, sum them up, and you will get the total power rating. However, we recommend buying an inverter with a little bit higher power rating than the calculated power to make sure all is taken into account. If you are not going to run all appliances at the same time, consider only the power rating of the most power-consuming device.

Which Pure Sine Wave Inverter to Buy?

For home use, a pure sine wave inverter of up to 3,000 watts is typically sufficient, while commercial applications require options starting from 10,000 watts. Now, let’s compare three models made by different brands and designed for various power needs from 700 watts to 3,000 watts.

Power rating

We have tested the 700W Renogy Pure Sine Wave Solar Inverter, the 1,500-watt WZRELB Continuous Pure Sine Wave Inverter, and the 3,000-watt GIANDEL Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter. As mentioned above, your choice largely depends on how powerful your equipment is. Nevertheless, there are some other differences in performance between these models.

The 700-watt option is perfect for smaller off-grid systems. It works well and is super quiet, however, it has no voltage meter, which is pretty inconvenient. The device has excellent peak power performance and is superior to many cheaper options in terms of build quality.

The 1,500-watt WZRELB model has a peak power of 3,000 watts. It features dual AC outlets and LED displays for DC/AC voltages allowing you to easily monitor power usage. The device comes with a PCB Board of 2 mm to increase the load capacity and is capable of working 24/7 off-grid power for the home power supply. We like this piece of equipment: it works fine, easy to set up, and is about the same price as the 700-watt model.

As for the third model — the 3,000-watt GIANDEL inverter — it is very powerful and boasts 6000-watt peak power. The device features AC dual outlets, an isolated input/output design, and an LED display showing battery input voltage and output power. The product includes the remote control with a 15-foot cable for more convenient control, especially when it comes to cars and solar systems. It runs microwave ovens, coffee machines, and refrigerators without a problem and is capable of powering the entire RV! That’s really great!

Safety features

When it comes to electricity, safety is always paramount. All three models offer overheat protection but the GIANDEL and WZRELB inverters are more advanced in terms of safety. These devices have a full set of safety protections, including overvoltage, overheat, overload, polarity reverse, and short circuit protection. Additionally, the GIANDEL unit offers an auto-restart function while the WZRELB inverter has ground protection from leakage of electricity. For comparison, the 700-watt model features only overload protection for DC/AC and ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection.

Design reliability

A robust inverter will last you longer and ensure maximum possible performance. The GIANDEL model is made with a sturdy aluminum alloy housing protecting the unit from bumps and drops. Its design meets the UL458 standard, which is a safety standard for power converters and inverters. Broadly speaking, it is of high quality and is well-made but is pretty bulky and weighs 6.2 kg.

The WZRELB is more lightweight and portable, measuring 35 x 25 x 9 cm with a weight of just 3.4 kg. As an added benefit, it offers high-quality pure copper inductance. Both models have built-in intelligent cooling fans preventing shortages and prolonging battery life. While being the most budget option on our list, the 700-watt Renogy inverter has a solid construction, easy to connect, and has a very attractive casing.
